“Healing takes time and asking for help is a courageous step”

Do you ever feel so energized after seeing your therapist but then life happens? That family member that you have poor boundaries with calls, your partner still doesn’t hear you and your kids are saying your name 5,000 times? Well, here are a couple of things that you can do so that you can keep that positive momentum.

1. Schedule times when you do not answer your phone. Try not to take a call right after therapy. You should be reflecting.

2. Create a schedule for your children with built in family time so that they know when they’re getting your undivided attention. The schedule keeps them busy and builds an autonomous child.

3. Share what you learn in therapy with your partner! This makes them feel included and aware of what you’re working on.

4. Create time to actually do what your therapist suggests! Consistency is key!

Taking care of your mental health is intentional and often looks like hard work and boundaries. I am here to tell you that you can do it. One foot in front of the other. One day at a time.

Be well
